I'm bored. So I want all other bored people to just post their most random memory. Seriously. Go random.

Mine?

Um.

Okay.

Summer. I was walking with Jenn down the street, and the sun was in my eyes. We were eating Italian ices, mine was Lemon (with real lemon chunks) and hers was probably strawberry. I looked up, and I could just see my dad walking quickly ahead of us. The sun was glittering off the pavement. Why I remember this, I don't know, but.

I have a memory from when I was REALLY young, and took a trip to Vermont. We were at my uncles house, and he was trying to get my cousin to drink a glass of milk, and she was saying she was lactoastintolerant to get out of it. *shrugs* Is that random?

Not exactly as random as you might like, considering it does have a somewhat logical train of thought, but:

One spring, the front garden, between the sidewalk and the porch, was absolutely filled with big, gorgeous, yellow daffodils. I cut at least fifteen and put them all in a vase on the dining room table, and they lit up the house... *falls into reminiscence* They all wilted within a few days, of course - and I just cut more. There were so many that year, for some reason...

I had to actually think to get more random memories than the first one that came... Though that was random, simply because I hadn't really remembered it until you asked the question, and it randomly surfaced.

I was sitting underneath the cherry tree in our backyard. It was early afternoon, and the leaves were making dapply shadows. A spider crawled over my leg. My mother made me a bean burrito for lunch, but it had too much cheese and then I felt sick to my stomach.

My dad's side of the family was having a reunion. I was recovering from some sort of lung sickness and was staying in the cabin. My cousin David, who is maybe two years older than me, came to see what I was doing. We lay on the couch, eating popsicles and examining our feet. He traced the outline of my foot and said that I would grow to be tall someday. The posicles were banana flavoured. He smelled like sun lotion.

My family was on a road trip. My little brother had been crying, but he'd finally quieted down. Peter, Paul and Mary were playing. It was that song about the racehorse, Stewball. I put my head against the speaker -- I can still remember the feel of it against my ear -- and listened and watched the streetlights go by. My parents started to sing along. My brother woke up and started to cry again.

I remember running around in my grandparents' backyard with my cousin Maggie. We were about six and five, running through the lawn sprinkler in our clothes. They had this swing hung from an outdoor clothes rack thing, we used to play on it. I remember I had these pink jellies, they gave me horrible blisters but I still wore them...

I was about 9 or 10 and at church for the Easter Egg hunt.

A younger friend of mine had found fewer eggs than I had, so I gave her a few of mine.

Dad took a picture of me doing this, but since I was handling the eggs carefully, the picture came out looking like I was in the process of STEALING her eggs.

I had just turned seven the month before, and it was December 20th. My best friend of years and years was leaving to move 300 miles away, and we were dancing together and saying that she was just going on holiday. She gave her new number as "8-1-8-1 Holiday Line".
