1. Passing the ring sling to the mom pushing the empty stroller while carrying the newborn - WIN! WIN! *does happy dance*

That might just be the best way to convince people that they're missing out.

2. Talking to the woman in the subway - Win? Loss? I don't know...

Here's a question for youse guys. If you see a woman with a baby on her back, and she mentions that the baby just woke up, and there doesn't seem to be a stroller or a crib nearby, would you be able to guess where the baby had slept?

I wasn't upset by this, but it was a bit puzzling.

(She slept on my back, by the way. She often does this when we're out and about.)

3. Running into [livejournal.com profile] lizziey at the SICM (I didn't even know she was in the city) and lending her my mei-tai for a bit because, dude, her baby is big.... not too bad. I reclaimed it before we left, anyway - that only leaves my care when it's with Jenn or 'dul. BECAUSE IT IS MINE AND I LOVE IT RAAAAAAR!

4. Talking to the acquaintaince at the SICM.... definitely a loss of sorts.

I mean, if the stroller were easier, don't you think I'd use a stroller? (Well, I was tempted, halfway through the conversation, to point out that life isn't always about taking the easy way out, but that seemed more than a little pointless.)

She has twins, but I've only ever seen one of them. Partially, this is because the one twin has therapy when the other twin goes to the SICM (he isn't walking yet - I felt like pointing out that worn kids are supposed to walk a little sooner, but there's no point to that) and partially this is because, as she told me, it's hard for her to get out and about with the both of them and the double stroller and only one walks and all.

I think a sling would make that simpler, but if she doesn't hear what I'm saying, I'm not going to just say it louder. 'twould be counterproductive, anyway.

Sometimes I had to use it, but I hated it. (I walked SO MUCH with the kids and used strollers-as-shopping-carts.) It was as big as a TRAIN.
