Originally, it was supposed to be Su, Deniz, and Ana, but Ana went upstate and Deniz got sick, so Elise and I just went with Su-Su. Kid had a horrible screaming meltdown on the boat, because she wanted her mom. Well, unfortunately, I couldn't give her her mom, we were on a boat. Finally, we stood outside and I talked to her and waited for her to calm down, and told her (several times, because she was really very upset and it was hard for her to understand or hear me, I'm sure) we could go back at the other side if she wanted to, but there was no way to bring her mom to her. When she saw a new rock, she did calm down. Eventually, she decided to go to the museum after all, but it was a close thing.

Wore her in the mei-tai when walking between museum and train, it's a long walk and windy as well. *giggles* She spontaneously decided to put her doll in her overalls later so she didn't have to carry the doll but could still play with it. And I saw five babywearers - a pouch, two ring slings, a wrap, and a hip carrier. Five separate individuals, randomly at the BCM. This is a bit freakish, seriously. And a Snuggli/Bjorn, but that's more common.

The program we did, they played with musical instruments, they watched a tuning fork make waves in water, they gave a quick "concert" (the kids did, not anybody else!) and then they all made rhythm instruments from things like soda bottles and paper tubes and rice or beans or sand. Elise got to make one too :)

All in all, it was great fun. I love some of the programs at the BCM, though I do prefer the SICM for daily visits, and not just because it's closer. I think because there are fewer exhibits there. The exhibits are larger, but there aren't as many of them, so it seems to me that kids are less likely to jump around trying to see everything. I know that when I go to the BCM, I put a limit on how many areas we can visit! It's overwhelming sometimes!

But it's still a great museum, and if we all lived there we'd live in the museum there the same way we currently live at the SICM during the week :)
