1. Kara is locked up.
2. Sharon was locked up.
3. Kara has *lost it*. I mean, did you see her face after she killed Leoben for the umpteenth time?
4. Sharon hasn't lost it. She seems more sane than ever.
5. After the kidlet almost dies due to Kara's not watching her (totally agreed on, by the way), she's acting more friendly towards Leoben - holding his hand and all. This may be a ploy, or it may be the first signs of Stockholm Syndrome. Who knows?
6. Sharon is giving long speeches about forgiveness, moving on, and not staying in the past. This may be genuine, or it too may be Stockholm Syndrome. However, as we're primed to support the human side, we're going to trust her emotions a lot, while the same exact stuff coming from Kara would make us fear for her remaining sanity.

So, what's the moral here? Keeping people in cages eventually works? I'm not sure I agree with the turn this has taken.

I dunno about BSG, but my friends and I decided that the moral of The Rescuers was 'moonshine fixes everything'.

Does BSG stand for Battlestar Galactica?

What about black humor to deal with the situation?

Clearly, they are addicted to dark for dark's sake. Thanks. I'll keep steering clear of it.

On the other hand, Sharon wanted to be accepted by her former friends, so maybe her speeches are more genuine.

I tuned in only to find out I had missed the first hour. So, the first I saw of Kara was not too long before girlie showed up. At that point, I didn't realize how long she had been locked up. On the second run, I didn't miss a thing and I'm about 95% sure she hasn't completely lost it. Perhaps that's because I think what's his face pushed the kid down the stairs. That's was my first and strongest thought each time. Plus, the sheer satisfaction, however temporary, she seemed to take in killing him. She's done the innocent smile and stabby thing too many times for me to think otherwise. The five percent is just because the writers like to screw with us.

I also agree that Sharon's desire to be accepted before she was locked up doesn't make their circumstances comparable. They'd have to have taken one of the Xena's for the correlation to work for me.
