When we play hide and seek, the goal isn't actually to not be found, it's simply to prolong the seeking and hiding experience. So we'll go through every impossible location for the hider (including the shoe - Ana always laughs when I check the shoe, and she commands me to laugh when I'm the one hiding and she checks the shoe) before flopping down on the bed - that is, either on top of the hider, or in such a way that the hider will tickle us and be duly caught.
Last time I played hide-and-seek with Ana, I tried to rush the game a little...
Me: Where's Ana? Hey, here she is under the sheet. I found you!
Ana: NO! You didn't find me in the drawer! *hides under sheet*
Me: That's because you're not in the drawer.
Ana: You have to look in the drawer.
Me: But you're not in the drawer.
Ana: *continues to hide under sheet*
Me: Fine. Hey, is Ana in the drawer? No. Gee, where could she be. I know! She's under the sheet!
Ana: Find me in the shoe. *hides back under sheet*
Me: But you're not in the shoe. You're never in the shoe. You're far too big to actually be in the shoe.
Ana: You have to find me in the shoe.
Me: But you're not in the shoe, you're under the sheet, and I found you.
Ana: *comes out from under sheet* No, Connie, you have to find me in the shoe, and in the drawer, and in the other drawer, and in the hamper, and behind the curtain, and in the (toy) fridge, and under the dresser!
At this point I gave up and had her tickle me.
That's just one conversation. Sorry about that.
