One reason I'm not having kids of my own:
Jul. 22nd, 2006 11:13 pmIn a word, poo.
Seriously. I have no desire to spend my life cheering after the kid spontaneously uses the toilet and poos. And yet, I anticipate doing this with the baby as well as Ana.
Fine. That's life.
But when it's done, I am done. It's fundamentally wrong to have to fake so much excitement over bowel movements. It's even wronger to actually feel happy that the kid pulled down her own pants of her own volition and, y'know, accomplished the deed. Seriously.
Later, I'll give you my commentary on making children fall asleep. But right now, it's the toilet.

Hey, does that mean that I should stop asking my mom for chocolate every time *I* successfully use the toilet? I hope I haven't been creeping her out!
*coughs a bit*
Seriously, though, I am *so* over the poop by now. I don't know how people manage to have more than two kids, unless they either churn them out really close together, or else wait so long between each batch that they forget how hard the others were. But I'd probably feel differently if I wanted to surround myself with children for my entire life. Not quite sure I like the idea of committment, y'know?
