So we didn't go out. At all.

Ana, I'm pleased to note, has no fear of thunder. She thinks it's cool, and, in fact, tried to convince me to go for a walk with her in the midst of torrential downpour. I nixed that idea - much though I enjoy walking in the rain, I'm quite certain the baby wouldn't. Plus, while I'm not scared of thunder, I do have a healthy respect for lightning - I've no desire to be struck.

Weirdest thing, though - hours before the storms started, Ana whined at the idea of going out because, as she said, "It's raining"*. It was sunny at the time, but even looking out the window, she insisted that it would, indeed, rain. And it did.

Coincidence? Or not?

I'll bring you more news if she does it again.

*And yet, when it actually rained, she wanted to go out in it. I don't get it, I really don't, but I'm quite glad of her early warning system, if it actually exists.

I get horrible headaches before summer storms. Maybe she does too.

Well, I know that the air pressure tends to drop right before a storm. Could be that she's noticing cues like that.
