Even if India is so far away you only feel sympathetic in the abstract, I'm rather surprised that so few people are posting. If nothing else, the potential implications for the US (which isn't far away to me, at least) are less than good. (Hey, anything to justify another war, right? I can see that coming up somehow, somewhere.)

Date: 2006-07-12 04:55 am (UTC)Hmm, if the terror attack was timed to the G8 summit, it's no surprise, they didn't try it where the summit was actually held, St. Petersburg must have a surprising amount of security given that strong measures were set up recently for the 300th anniversary, a few holes must've been sealed back then, protocols set up, etc. and more importantly, Russia is known as hunting terrorists down mercilessly, so you might not want to pull her whiskers.
