Thing is, that parents can't control the DNA they have to provide to their children - they have only their own to offer. If it's the fault of vaccination, they can choose not to vaccinate. Coz that'll fix the problem.
If they're responsible genetically, they've already made the decision.
Also, genetics gets ugly coz it meand that 'God'[*] has chosen to make their child autistic. And they can't understand why 'God'[*] would punish them like that.
Also, if it is genetics, it means one or both parents must be (at least) carrying the making of autism. Worst-case, one or more may actually be autistic. Curabies desperately don't want that - coz it means they're among those who ought/need to be 'cured'.
US medicine's promise to 'cure' all disease and disorder has a lot to answer for - but so too does the me culture, and so on.
In the end, parenthood isn't the same as owning a pet. That message really does need to get through to some people.
