The photographer has an inordinate fondness for pictures of cats leaping. I know those are always popular, but I don't know, I prefer pictures of cats snuggling with each other or being curious. Still and all - cats!

Several thoughts went through my head as I saw this:

1. OMG HOW COOL IS THIS!
2. Bit dangerous.
3. But I bet nobody ever got hurt. You'd think they would, but they don't. Very annoying habit of children, not getting hurt.
4. I should totally share this with people!
5. But not Ana. Ye gods, not Ana.

We had to go to the doctor to make sure she's not sick (she's not, and I have a note to prove it), and I figured while I was there I should pick up her glasses. (A LOT of her schoolmates were there too. I hope nothing's going around.)

Jenn's comment was "Wow, with the glasses and the hair and the teeth she really does look like a big geek", which is probably true, but Ana's thrilled with them. (She's been eagerly anticipating glasses for just about the last four years.)

(Thanks, Mommy!)

Ginger is my sister, of course - we used to call her that as a kid. Then she stopped and we were the ONLY ones who called her that other than Giann and maybe Gale, friends from way back when. Finally, my mother and I switched over to Jenn... and a few years down the line she started using Ginger again out in the world. D'oh!

Ah, my nieces. Ana's the one who got her dressed up, of course.

They're not going to wear their uniforms again until SEPTEMBER. Monday is a non-uniform day... and even if it weren't, it would be for them. I AM SO DONE WITH UNIFORMS FOR THIS YEAR. I'll take a similar picture first day of school, of course.

Note the jumpers. I look at jumpers as a sensible and practical way to keep their shirts clean. Navy doesn't stain. I'm apparently alone on this, as few of their (female) classmates wear jumpers, instead preferring to wear skirts or shorts.
