1. Go to the poll. In my journal, this means clicking on the lj-cut in the appropriate entry. (You can also have great fun by going to a random poll, and editing the poll number in the URL so you end up voting on some stranger's poll, but if you know how to do this, you probably don't need my help.)
2. In the entry with the poll, you can click on two different types of links to get to the place where you can edit your answers. There's the link at the very top saying Poll #9876543210 and there's a link at the top of every question saying View Answers. Pick one, click on it.
3. At the top of the page you find yourself on (well, not the top, but the top of the relevant part), go all the way to the left, to the entry marked Fill out Poll. Click it.
4. Edit your answers as you wish, time is fast a-flying.
5. Cackle. You've mastered it.
