Bit of a commenting question...

For me, it usually depends on how many comments there are. If it's more than a page, there's no way I'm reading all of them. I might skim the top-level ones. Sometimes even when there aren't a lot of comments, I don't read what's there. If I know the people commenting, I usually do.

Does "comments received" count only comments on one's own journal? Or does it also count comments in response to comments left elsewhere?

I picked a number at random. I don't know how many comments I leave, but it's a lot. D: I don't get many, though.

I agree with this. I chose the "reads all comments" option because I do, unless it's gotten far too long. Which I usually consider about three pages. And then I just read top level, and the more interesting of those threads.

Don't forget I roleplay on Live Journal. Constantly, all day, under multiple journals. So that's why the high numbers.

Oh poo, I calculated my averages just for you and then I had to realise that that number wasn't an option. :-P I write and receive about three comments a day.

i usually read comments, but not always, and not always all of them.

depends on how much time i have, and/or how much i've had to drink first?

and on what's on offer to comment upon.
