Okay, about this candy exchange...
Jan. 4th, 2004 05:47 pmJazzy, if you wanna send candy, really, let's get a list going of candies that can't be found in the US but are in England. And your skittles sound good.
Then we can do the other list. Hm....

Date: 2004-01-05 03:05 pm (UTC)Skittles are ok. I think it's neat that some candies and foods aren't in the U.S. or in England or wherever, it makes them kind of special. In French I, the teacher told us that people in France pay a lot for blue jeans and they don't have a certain kind of soda (it might have been Dr. Pepper, but I forgot), so we were all making plans to smuggle blue jeans and soda on the France trip XD

Date: 2004-01-05 03:07 pm (UTC)Oh and have you ever tried dandolion and burdock drink? I heard it is sold in England and it is suppose to taste really bad.. (I am just asking because of the neopets item, lol)

Date: 2004-01-05 03:09 pm (UTC)No, because I hate dandelions, since I used to garden. i doubt i'd like a drink made from that hideous weed...

Date: 2004-01-05 09:39 pm (UTC)Hm. I'll list all the Hershey's chocolates I can think of, you tell me what you have...
Nutrageous
Snickers
Milky Way
Butterfinger (nobody better lay a finger on my butterfinger)
Mounds
Almond Joy (sometimes you feel like a nut... sometimes you don't... almond joy's got nuts... mounds don't...)
Three Musketeers
Okay, that's all the chocolate I can think of.
You have twizzlers, right? And good 'n plenty? And sweet tarts, duh, what about smarties? Not the canadian kind, either, these are the chalky things with no chocolate that I love so much... Or pixi stix... Love pixi stix...
Does it have to be just candy? What about potato chips or whatever?

Okay, that's all the chocolate I can think of.
You have twizzlers, right? Nope
And good 'n plenty? Nope
And sweet tarts Nope
, duh, what about smarties? Not the canadian kind, either, these are the chalky things with no chocolate that I love so much... Ours have a crispy shell and chocolate inside, so no
Or pixi stix... Love pixi stix... Nope
Does it have to be just candy? What about potato chips or whatever? Sure, why not. Do you have Nik-Naks? Best crisps ever...or Salt and Vinegar McCoys...
Some questions for you: Are there any items which you're certain aren't allowed into America? Do you allow in food with any colourings, even if it's banned in American candy? There's one in strawberry Skittles which I think is banned in America. Will either of us have to pay any tax on the parcel arriving in America? Do you like mint, and do you have any allergies? There, I think that's all...and do you want to keep writing about this on here, or should we PM about it?

Date: 2004-01-06 03:07 pm (UTC)As for the food dyes, I don't think they'll check for that. I know there's one type of red dye that isn't allowed in American candy because it's believed to be a carcinogen, but I'm not sure if your red skittles have that dye or not.
I do like mint (but not spearmint), and I don't have any allergies... I don't like mango flavored anything, but my sister does, so that's no worries.
As for potato chips, can't stand salt and vinegar chips *shudders*
But do you have twinkies/yodels/snowballs there? (those aren't chips, don't ask why I'm mentioning them after that)
What about cooler ranch doritos? Or salsa doritos?
Hm. This is getting expensive! *grins* I think this is going to end up being multiple packages spaced out over a few months if I keep going nutty....
And if you wanna PM, that's fine. Or email, do you have my email? You should, it's listed under my LJ info.
