As anybody who watched BSG last night knows, it involved a Towel Scene. A tasteful, well-done scene involving partial nudity.

Now many people seem to be claiming that the reason Apollo was holding his towel so funny in that scene is because he was hiding "the beginnings of a hard on".

Maybe this is just me, but I'm Not Happy with that discussion, for one simple reason - at this point, we're no longer discussing Apollo, who isn't real, but the actor who plays him and deserves a little privacy.

Now, if he wants to go ahead and say in an interview exactly what was going on in that scene, that's his business. But until he does, maybe we could all, y'know, drop the subject? Because it's not our business.

Yes, I know you think Lee is hot and you want to frak him. Yes, I know you feel the same way about the actor, except now you want to fuck him. I get it. And if you want to discuss the real-world implications of this scene to two other people, I can't stop you. But it'd be nice if you didn't babble it where the entire universe could see, if you'd be just a tiny bit respectful of people's right to privacy. Just a thought.

I have to confess that I was so surprised by the flash of bare hip that I wasn't looking there...I guess I'll have to watch the Monday night rerun...!

And of course, there was Kara in the b.g. in her panties putting on her trousers, and the sharing of a locker room implies the sharing of the showers themselves, too.

As might be expected in a culture which derives its values from a variation of the Greek pantheon rather than a prudish monotheism, there doesn't appear to be a nudity taboo. People wear clothes because clothes are generally necessary for physical comfort, but aren't upset to be accidentally seen in underclothing or nude or while bathing -- nudity is properly seen as not necessarily sexual.

One would suspect that back home before the war, there were "purist" amateur Pyramid teams which deliberately played in the nude, as the Gods originally intended for athletic competition....

Meanwhile, I seriously doubt that Jamie Bamber had "the beginnings of an erection" as in the context of actors doing a nude or semi-nude scene in our mainstream, sexually sick culture that sort of thing is seen as unprofessional unless one is making a porno, which he wasn't -- perhaps some fangirls (regardless of their genders) are seeing what they want to see even if it isn't really there.

Having been a figure model, without going into T.M.I., trust me, there are ways to keep control over that.
