That game you play where you hold something, like a bag, or a sling, and spin it round and round. Or you can do this on the floor, spinning it while holding one end.

She tries to do that because I do it when I have a chance.

If I spin myself, in a chair or whatnot, people claim I make them dizzy. I don't get dizzy, and they're not even moving, but I make them dizzy.

When I was little, I found that spinning myself was even more fun if I was holding something a little heavy, it'd pull at me. And if I couldn't spin, I'd take a necklace or something, some mardi gras beads, and hook it around my finger, or my wrist, and just spin it around and around. Still do, really, but not so much.

Long time since I've thought of that. When I say "not so much", I really mean "not so much". That used to be one of the things I did the most. Nice, and comfortable, and just like holding a heavy bag, it pulls at you.

Have you ever done the angular momentum experiment, where you sit in a chair whilst holding something heavy at arms length, then you spin yourself around and once you get going as fast as you can, you bring the heavy thing towards you and start to spin even faster? </physics geek>

This is also well-performed in a swing (such as a plastic tire swing) suspended from a single rope. We'd spin around until the rope was sufficiently twisted, and then we'd let go. Pulling our legs in was amusingly difficult, and it would make us spin even faster.

Some of my church youth group friends invented a game along with me at a lock-in. We'd find a nice big carpeted area, spin while holding something smallish and harmless to land on *like a sock). We would spin until dizzy (or suspecting a little dizzy), let it go, and then go jump over it! Chances were it wouldn't be a very successful leap, nor was it likely that we land back on our feet. Then we'd giggle in stupid glee as hilarity ensued.
