Finally watched the last few episodes of Lost...

Okay, so, question. What was Walt so scared of? And if he's psychic, why didn't he say "DAD! NO! DO NOT FIRE THE FLARE!!!!" or something? It's not like his mental abilities are an island-induced skill or anything. Better question, why didn't anybody on the boat realize that the other boat was coming from the island? They'd been going in pretty much a straight line, right? So...? Are they all dead now?

And was the entire point of Annoying Science Teacher to act as a redshirt? Because that's just a cop-out. Should've introduced the character earlier, just so we'd care that he got himself blown up.

And Jack is just now realizing that Locke is crazy? Took him long enough. Chauvinist pig. Or maybe he just didn't trust her with explosives. Whatever.

And poor Hurley. Starting to mumble. *sniffles*

I'm either dense, or missed the episode where they discovered that Walt's psychic. I saw up to episode 20, and then the final finale.

As for the science teacher: I am SO FRIGGING GLAD they blew him up. I just wish they'd done it sooner. I think his entire purpose was to spout how the extras resent the main characters.

Well, we know he has weird mental powers, dating back to before the plane crash. And he knows things he can't know, like about the hatch and that YOU CAN'T OPEN IT, WE HAVE TO GET OFF THIS ISLAND NOW! and all.
