I'm against the death penalty. I'm not, however anti-abortion.

Yet people who are anti-abortion and pro-death penalty can call themselves pro-life and I can't. Nom-de-gueu*! I know I've mentioned this before, but this time I mean it. I'm going to start calling myself pro-life, and I would like it if all my friends who are against the death penalty, regardless of their feelings on abortion, consider doing the same. I won't stop until the hypocrisy stops.

*This is an attempt to spell one Walloon pronunciation of "Nom de Dieu" correctly. In standardized Walloon, the word for God is "Dju", but this in no way reflects the pronuciation I grew up with. So, after much talk with my mother, we came up with that transcription. This transcription is based on French spelling conventions, the English pronunciation is something like "gyur". If anybody knows of an official transcription of that pronunciation, please let me know. Thank you!

A foetus ain't a person.

I had this 'conversation' with a chick from school.

"I guess I'm not anti abortion, but the way they do it now is just barbaric... It should totally be illegal." -her
"I'm sorry, what did you say? I got rammed in the skull with a coathanger a while back and I just have so much trouble concentrating."

I'm a cold person. SO fucking sue me. Morning after pill should be legal too, and given to people who ask for FREEEEE.

If the morning after pill is free I want tylenol to be free as well.

I agree with it being sold over the counter (along with birth control, because they are practically the same thing), but free medicine is a scary idea.

There is quite a difference between condoms and medication. You can put anything in a pill and you can't tell the difference, condoms aren't as easy to adulterate.

Universal health care is not free, it's paid for in high taxes and such. I love the idea of universal health care, but just handing out pills is a bad idea in my opinion. There is too much risk of bad drug combinations and mixtures.

I'm not pro abortion, but I am pro choice. As in, I wouldn't choose to have an abortion myself (were I ever to be in a situation where that choice would even be applicable) but I won't interfere with a pregnant person's choice.

And I'm against the death penalty, for a number of reasons, but I think the most important one for me is that if I killed a bunch of people, I'd much rather be killed than sit around in prison and think about what I did. Also the fact that you can't undo a death sentence, should someone happen to be not guilty. So I'm anti death penalty. But I'm also anti-prison. Because really, the system just sucks.

Frankly, I think we need to use the Halo-system from Minority Report. You know, you put a murderer in a coma to watch their murder(s) over and over and over and over....

I'm pro-life. I'm pro-established-life! But then, I normally equate a fetus with a tape worm (especially if it was me that was pregnant). But tape worms are relatively harmless.

I'm personally against both abortion (except if the mother's life is in danger) and the death penalty. I see what you mean, though. =\ Why condemn one method of murder when you agree with another?

Have you posted why you're against the death penalty before? If not, would you do so? I waver a lot on that one.
