Yay! And now I can talk about my day yesterday.
Um.
I went to the toy store, got disenchanted with the lines. I may very well go to the one by the mall because I need work. Stay tuned.
I also fed the squirrels in the park! Somebody just gave me a bag of nuts for this purpose. The squirrels in Union Square are so cool, they're tame. They're tamer than some cats I've had (bluey, anyone?), and will take food right from your hand. *sits in awe*
And then I went to the bookstore and read a while before heading home.
That was all.

Date: 2003-12-14 08:50 pm (UTC)Squirrels sort of scare me, but they're not as bad as pigeons or CHICKENS, which are the ultimate evil. At least the word 'squirrel' is lovely and fun to say and write. Still... is it safe to feed them by hand?? Aren't they horribly dirty? What if they carry diseases? *shudders* I hope you washed your hands very thoroughly afterwards.

Date: 2003-12-14 09:44 pm (UTC)As for squirrels... yes, it's safe to feed them by hand, so long as the squirrel in question is unlikely to freak and attack you. No, they aren't horribly dirty, no more than, say, cats. All lifeforms carry diseases, but I doubt any disease carried by those squirrels is communicable to humans... there's no rabies in the city, not for over two decades. And no, I didn't wash my hands very thoroughly afterwards, the squirrels didn't actually touch me, they just grabbed the food. And yes, I would like a pet squirrel one day, but I know when I'm dreaming the impossible.
I'm glad I didn't tell you about the time I was eating a gyro and one of the squirrels jumped on my shoulder, ran across my back, and sat there for a second before jumping off and going to a squirrelfeeder!
