Toads. Nature's canaries.
Apr. 28th, 2005 06:49 amRemind me not to go to Germany anytime soon. I just may explode.
Since a one-liner is hardly appropriate, I thought I'd continue with my depressing theme: The terror threat is high. Either we're all in danger, or the government realized it hadn't yet exceeded its budget for fear-mongering. I'm sure that all will be revealed shortly.
And oh, look! The Last Thing We Need Is A Draft. When people start talking like that, I get that nasty praeter itio feeling. I know that's not quite appropriate, but it sure seems like it is. "Oh, we won't draft" (everybody starts thinking about drafts). "Oh, we really wouldn't want a draft" (people remember they were thinking about the draft). "Oh, that's the last thing we need...." (people start worrying about the poor soldiers, and paying even more money to avoid a draft). "Oh dear. Guess we have to draft!"
