I agree with Mr. Markee, the numbers are likely to be much higher. All this reminds me, as I was in Manhattan today, I passed a homeless guy with a sign: Family Killed by Ninjas, Need Money for Kung-Fu Lessons. That's definitely worth the $1 I passed him (heck, it was worth more, but I didn't have more to pass, so....)

I'm glad someone did the survey. It seems a first step toward making things better. The level of homelessness is so depressing and it feels so wrong that such a rich country should allow so much extreme poverty and misery.

The "ninja" sign... I've seen a picture of that before. Wonder if it's the same guy or if the guy you passed guy got the idea from the picture on the internet...
