Really, I think it's a horrible way to die. However, if, as the comments indicate, this is very common, it raises an important question.

Why haven't we duckling-proofed our sewer grates yet?

I don't think it's funny either. It was especially not funny when a girl from my floor printed out this image a few months ago, wrote "Bad Parenting" across the top of it and taped it to her door.
