So do puppies. Luckily we heard ours splashing in time. (Every time. He must have fallen in about 9 or 10 times before he got big enough to drag himself out.)
Aren't you supposed to put a fence around pools for exactly this reason? To prevent it from being "an attractive nuisance", as the legal types so awkwardly put it?
We used to have a poodle. Never jumped in, but every time he'd fall in he'd sink like a stone-- no joke. Luckily he wasn't a very heavy dog (60 pounds) but man.
And these used to be the water retrievers of choice?
