Being forced to maintain eye contact whilst delivering a monologue (and "alter my performance based on their reactions" *rolls eyes*) was one of the major reasons I ended up sitting in the back of the studio crying when I was in Finland. Fortunately most of the time people seem to think I am looking them in the eye because I always watch their mouth.
