[Poll #444931]

Edit: Once again, the Museum of Menstruation comes through for us, this time listing terms for menstruation.

I plan to use at least one a month on this journal until I get bored. These terms may or may not coincide with my actual period.

Oo, someone else uses a reusable cup! Fancy.

I'm beginning to realise that.

Fair enough, my contribution to the general gross-out pool: My sister has actually bled on me during her period. Add one for "Do you use...Something else" to the poll. Older brothers should not be used as a substitute for sanitary pads. >_

Been there, seen that, worn the wince.

Ah, well, 'spose I can't complain too much. At least I don't have to put up with it. Well, except when my sister tells me in great detail about it. Oh, she can be evil.

I find it strangely reassuring that so many people on your friends list use pads. Not that there's anything wrong with other methods; it's just that whenever the topic comes up in a community I read, everyone acts as if pads are teh evil... which gave me the impression that I must be some kind of freak for using them and being happy with them. (Well, as far as you can be happy with pads. Heh.)

Everything else listed in your poll, except pads?

They're not my friends, they are just people who happen to read the same communities in this case. ;-)

I don't use them because mine are too bad.

and for some reason, the tampon kinda helps with the cramps a little. I think it's the placebo effect.

I just really don't like pads... Tampons aren't that much better, but they don't chafe....

EEW.

Scented ones are so gross. and alleric-y. and bad smelling. As someone else on childfree said, 'Fake flower smell plus blood is bad.'

I swear, in the last week I must've seen about 10 different posts talking about or referring to scented tampons. I've not seen a single one in the three years before that. Did I miss something?

I'm on Depo, so I don't exactly get one. Occasional spotting, but that's really rare (maybe 2x a year?). Before I was on it though, I usually stuck with unscented tampons (my mom's quite paranoid about things being unnatural, so she was really against scented stuff).

*shivers* I always seem to have bad stories to share but--
I don't often use disposable pads for a similar reason. Where I live we often have ant problems in the summer, and this summer, I threw a pad away. When I came back to empty my bladder a few hours later, there was a trail of ants carrying away the bounty of my uterus.
I was really annoyed, seeing as *I* couldn't use the blood, but some horrible parasitic pests could.
