I'm starting to suspect, though, that this show shouldn't be crammed into an hour. It makes it all feel rushed. Maybe an hour and a half, break with TV tradition a little?

(90 minutes is nigh on impossible; as far as I can tell, from my limited knowledge of US TV, only sitcoms and cartoons fit into a 30-minute slot, so you'd have to run The Simpsons afterwards, or maybe Joey if you want to nauseate the viewing public)

After BSG they repeat the earlier lineup, starting with SG1 and ending with BSG. THey could easily boot it all ahead half an hour - they'd ultimately end up losing only one hour-long show.

Or I guess there's always, say... the news, or Entertainment Tonight, or the kind of 20-to-30-minute fillers that Sci-Fi always comes up with.
But what a really neat idea, two showings per day! Or, perhaps, start the lineup early with last week's episode for the hopelessly tardy (or those unable to program a VCR) and end with this week's.

I think the double showing is because it shows simultaneously all over the country, so that both the east and the west coast have a 10:00 showing. That's why they wouldn't alter the show.
