I had to comment :/ I have an English degree... and it was a massive amount of work to earn. And had I not gotten ill, it would likely have given me plenty of job opportunities. I did briefly hold a job because of it, but the health problems started pretty much just after I got the job, so it didn't go well. But still, there is plenty of use for good writing.
