Almost forgot to tell you!
I RODE ON THE NEW BOAT TODAY.
There's three of them, which is good. They're cool. Very pretty, with interesting artistic thingies showing... something. Sonar or something. And it's got four decks instead of just three, and elevators. These are the first boats to be fully accessible, so that's a big thing. And the bathroom? Has sinks. That work. Not just cold-water-only and the water shuts off three seconds after it goes on. And it's divided into little "nooks". And crannies, just like an English muffin. And there's two outdoor areas, and the upper one is open, no ceiling.
Few problems: The lifejackets aren't under the seats, they're at the ends of the boat instead. Less convenient. Also, I have no idea where the lifeboats are. The ceilings are low, probably to accomodate the extra deck, and the stairs are steep. And all that shiny steel is going to get so marked up, it's not even funny.
The new terminals are coming along nicely as well. They installed this HUGEASS scrolling marquee on the Manhattan side. Complete overkill.
