Okay, I didn't really get that. So an unmade bed is supposedly dry, which makes for bad living conditions for mites. But, er... whose bed becomes more humid if you actually make it?

I assume they mean that if your sheets are rumpled then you have more of the bottom sheet exposed to the air, so the mites dry out. Whereas, if it is made, the moisture underneath is protected with the upper sheets that serve as insulation to the mites.
