Lemme explain. Core 9 is THE most boring class I've taken at BC so far. It should've been fine, but for some reason we have professors who really (and they admit it) don't know much about the subject. And they can't teach it well. I'm not sure if that's a flaw in them, or if they teach better when it's their own subject, but it's been a boring year.
Anyway, Core 9 is divided into two modules, each of which is taught by a different professor. Right now we're doing China and Parts of Africa. At the end of each module, you take an exam, and there's a comprehensive final at the end of term.
Well, I technically missed the China module exam, had to make it up, and just now got it back. Turns out I got an A. Whee. I didn't really study, either, so I'm happy.
I was worried about the Africa module exam, though. See, it was so boring, I kinda... stopped paying attention. And maybe my attendance slipped. But that's no problem. As I found out when I showed up unprepared to take the test, nobody knew what they were doing! Attendance didn't help! Some of them had actually lodged a complaint against the professor.
This really didn't bode well for the test.
I got a 23. After some thought, I determined that this *must* be a 23 out of 39, because that equals an A-. Yes, the test was graded on a fairly generous curve. An 18 gave you a C+. Some people failed. They got Fs.
I didn't study. I didn't know about this test until the night before. I didn't pay attention when I attended. And I still got an A-.
Whee!
