First, if you, like me, want to yell at CNN for anything - like not making certain stories bigger news than they are, here's a link.

Second, I'm going to go on about this for at least another week. Maybe two. If this really bothers you, I suggest you take me off your Default View for that long, then pop back and see if I've stopped doing it yet. I promise, I won't defriend anybody in the interim unless I'm asked to.

I, for one, am GLAD that someone is paying attention.

It seems to me that "not paying attention" is how we got into this mess. It is my common lament: people would rather watch "Survivor" than exercise some interest in the government or broaden their comprehension of the World. I just can't figure out whether my inclination to believe it's all conspiracy BY the government to distract everyone with stupid pop culture crap is really fair, because perhaps it is just the case that people are, in a great preponderance, just not that smart. But I think I want to believe that even less. Sigh.

If you could just toss the longer rants behind an lj-cut, which you normally do, I'm all good. I know it's important, and I'd like a resolution, but I am just so very tired of hearing about it. A sentence and link is nothing, but I've taken some less considerate people off my flist for now. Mostly communities.

No, I tried to mention that you're quite good about cutting. I've just had to put up with too much non-cutting in communities.. less this week than last week, thankfully.

I'm quite glad you're going on about it, but I personally plan to go on about it (and related issues, because this is only the tip of an enormous iceberg) for as long as it takes (no particular time limit on that since I can't predict the future) and people on my flist who don't like that... can always defriend me. Too much at stake. If people read my journal often enough to know what's potentially at stake, and don't want to read my reactions to it, then as far as I'm concerned they don't have to read it, because I'm not shutting up about it for them. Nothing pathological there, it's survival.

This may of course only tangentially relate to what you're talking about. But it's my current stand on this for my own journal. It's the main tool I've got in life: Disseminating information.

cool!
