Noises in the attic...
Nov. 10th, 2004 12:06 amWe've heard, for about a month now, noises in the attic - some sort of animal, obviously larger than the pigeons we had there for a while, and larger no doubt than a mouse. But nobody really wanted to go up in the nighttime when it was most active, and we kept putting it off during the day.
Finally, this night it was loud enough that I'm just like "fuck it", so I go upstairs, fully expecting a raccoon or a possum, or, worst case scenario, an evil demon.
But no, it's a kitty cat!
And as I'm looking at it, and thinking it's much too big to be a feral, it comes right up to me, lets me pick it up and bring it downstairs, show mommy. And then I brought it back up there - I mean, s/he's obviously getting in and out somehow, right? I'm not worried about any cats. Besides, I saw a wormtail there, so we've either got a rat or a possum as well, and if it's a rat, with luck, the cat'll scare it away. With luck.
Still trying to figure out how they're getting in. There's no use worrying about it until we can figure out where, exactly, their entrance is. Worse comes to worst, they'll leave when the temperature drops. Up there, it easily gets 10 to 20 degrees BELOW whatever it is outside.
