Like I said, we're still in Cicero. Lemme explain what's going on... This guy, Cataline, had gotten himself into a bit of a cash flow problem. So he had this bright idea that they'd take over the government and abolish all debts. That was his brilliant plan, stop paying back money... *rolls her eyes* Anyway, our friend Marcus Tullius (Cicero) got wind of this and argued against him in the Senate, claiming that even though there was precedent for just ordering him to be killed, he'd wait until there was nobody left "tam inprobus, tam perditus, tam tui similis" (so wicked, so immoral, so much like you) who would be able to say it was done unjustly. And that's where we are now.
There's this one part I want on a user pic, though. Lemme quote it:
O di inmortales! ubinam gentium sumus? in qua urbe vivimus? quam rem publicam habemus? Hic, hic sunt in nostro numero....
Oh, immortal gods! Where in the world do we have our nation (not sure about that translation, but...) In what city do we live? What sort of republic do we have? These, these are in our number....
I so seriously want a userpic that just says: O di inmortales! Quam rem publicam habemus?
Hm... And maybe one that says "res agit" which is the most vague sentence in the entire latin language.
