Apparently, Michael (at 19) is graduating in June. He'll be out of law school by the time he is 23. TWENTY-THREE. And he doesn't seem to see how it's insane to be rushing through school like that.

I, on the other hand, intend to take a year off, either next year or the year after, and do americorps. And I also intend, if that works out, to do a stint in the Peace Corps... That's a break in college and another one between undergrad and grad school. I want a chance to do something useful while thinking about what it is I want to do with my life. In fact, if I had the money to be taking time off without doing anything, I might even just go to Belgium to be with my relatives for a term, take a bit of an exchange program. You don't actually have to know a foreign language to do that, apparently.

Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't been eaten up by ulcers already. Entered college at 17, out by 19, campus EMT, none of that stuff is without Aaron (twin) so he isn't even getting a chance to get away from his family... and Aaron is still managing to one-up him by taking ancient Greek instead of Latin, that's gotta be annoying when you're a typical overacheiver.

And for God's sake, the guy is afraid to play tag. At NINETEEN! That can't be normal.

Well, I guess I can just be thankful it's not *my* life. *goes out to blow bubbles*

I'll be graduating from a two year college in the spring, at 17... but I have no idea what I want to do afterwards. I'm definitely taking a year off after this to try to figure things out. 17 or 18 is way too young to have your life mapped out.

In our culture, one's expected to start college right after one finishes high school, and taking a semester or a year off is regarded as a very very inferior thing to do, even if one intends to work during the break. I'm not saying this is a good thing (regarding such simple things as very very inferior never is), I'm simply pointing out that different customs exist for different places, and we all still manage somehow. I'll finish university at ~22, and that's fairly normal here.

But being afraid to play tag is not normal anywere I guess =p
