And to the first question: deodorant when it's not hot, both otherwise.

That "new" immigration stream article is from June 2023.

The immigration situation in Canada is getting pretty tight lately. So far this year, they have only done draws for people who already have Canadian work experience or who have a Provincial nomination. Who known what they'll do in the future, but that's the current situation.

Americans might be LMIA-exempt for healthcare? But not sure.

Nuance for the last question of the poll. I chose morning, but the true answer is 'after I've washed' so mostly the morning, as I'm getting dressed, but it could be afternoon if I've been to the gym or for a swim, or the weather was particularly hot. Basically if I got all hot and sweaty and need to wash and freshen up it'll go on again then.

Interesting thing I read recently, unlike most gendered products the deodorants and antiperspirants for men and women are actually formulated differently. Women's products tend to be formulated so that they won't irritate shaved skin, while men's are formulated not to clump up in hair.

So they should be marketed as "shaves" and "doesn't shave" but they probably won't do that because it might introduce women to the concept that there is one less product they might have to buy.

Gel works best for "not shaved" and is available in femme formulations.

I've tried a very wide range of deodorants marketed for sensitive skin (and before that, regular deodorants, both fragrance-free and fragranced).

They all caused very painful, itchy rashes in my armpits,

so I quit using deodorant.

Anyway, if I get bad smells from going too long between showers, it's going to be from sweat trapped under my breasts (anaerobic bacteria), not my armpits, and it's not like I am going to be putting deodorant under my breasts, that would guarantee a very nasty skin reaction.

I wish people would stop wearing Axe/Lynx/Rexona bodyspray on buses/trains/lifts/other public places, it's a massive migraine trigger, even if I'm wearing an N95.

deodorant, sometimes a deodorant/antiperspirant.
i swipe vertically. but if the level of the stick above the container is low & i don't want to twist it up because it might break, i go sideways for a few applications.
i put it on in the morning. but if i'm going out later, i will put in on in the evening too.

We call it "deodorant" here even if it's actually antiperspirant. Just checked the product I use and it has both terms listed.

I answered "yes" for the last question, because truth is that I apply it after I've showered, which can be any time of day or night. I tend not to reapply between showers unless I feel I need it.

My brand lists both terms as well.

Always after a shower, usually late afternoon.

I have no idea whether what I use is deodorant or anti-perspirant or both. I apply it in the morning, after showering.

To be fair , I generally shower in the evenings … so the post bathing ritual included antiperspirants. On the rare occasion I bathe before noon , I do the same . So it’s not dat /nighttime specific so much that it’s “bathing” specific

Part of my body having the complete cold-weather package is that I don't sweat well. I do sweat, but... not much. The upside is that I've never worn any sort of antiperspirant. The downside is that it makes me even more heat-sensitive than I would be otherwise. Having to mist myself down is a pain in the ass.

(I have literally been hit by heat exhaustion in December.)

Used to use deodorants but a few years ago I caught a fungal infection in a dodgy university shower and was told to stop using them until the infection was dealt with. Then I noticed I didn't have much body odour any more.
