On the other, there is a certain fascination to watching it all fall apart.

What I still don't get is how a man with such an unhealthy lifestyle can still be around to fuck us all over.

I think that's why he has so much financial support, as when he inevitably departs, his replacement will step in to better implement billionaire-friendly policies.

I keep hoping a tiny meteor will fall on his head and take him and whomever is around him out. (It could happen, a tiny meteor fell in Canada.)

I honestly think the only way we'll get rid of him is if he dies of natural causes (he's 78, it's possible and too tan - so possibly metasized skin cancer?) or a meteor drops on his head.

Both his parents lived into their 90's, though I'm not sure what their health was like outside of his father's Alzheimer's. My money is on the McDonald's and diet Coke if anything is going to take him out this decade. (skin tone is mostly bronzer)

Or Melania could get fed up and tap one of his ex-KGB "buddies" for help or some supplies, depending on how the pre- and post-nups are structured.

Yeah, it's like watching a eruption, in more ways than one. I have to ration myself on the news, or my depression kicks in and I screw up my eating and my meds.

I'm not an accelerationist but I keep wondering if it's better if things fall apart faster, giving more time to course-correct. Like a big explosion might be better than death from 1000 cuts.

I'm reminded of those fire safety videos when they show how fast a house-fire can grow...

and I'm sure he's still around because Death won't go near him! I don't blame Her for it.

So, either tiny meteor or asteroid?

Although bronzer does have chemicals that can result in cancer according to unreliable sources on the internet.

And there's always Iran, although they appear to be rather incompetent. It's clearly much harder to get rid of evil people than we've been lead to believe by fiction.

Wasn't that the theory on Kissinger's longevity too? Hard agree, though, those are not cooties I would want.

So, either tiny meteor or asteroid?

Barring a teenager with a magic sword and a talking animal guide, yeah.

It's actually possible - a man in Canada almost was hit by one. But the timing would have to be on point - so the odds of it happening are about 1 billion to .oooo1

There is a fascination to it, you are correct. As a history gal, in particular, it is both horrifying and oddly fascinating to see how the patterns of history never really go away.
