No, I suggested that, but instead everybody else agreed I had to cook it myself.

Meh, a roast bird is the absolute easiest thing in the world to cook. I only had to keep an eye on the oven - ours won't let us let it run for more than 90 minutes, so at the 90 minute mark I had to start it up again.

And preparing the bird yourself gives you the added benefit of that tasty, tasty duck fat for later frying or dressing things like potatoes.

At some point in my life I learned about gribenes and every time I prepare duck or chicken (or turkey, I guess, if I cooked turkey) now I fry the excess skin and omg it is the most brilliant kitchen hack ever.

Wow, that would be annoying. My clotted cream recipe calls for twelve hours of cooking at a very low oven. I can only set the cooking timer for 11h59m, but that's close enough.
