is that I'm well aware that there are several concepts I was introduced to from the Xanth novels. Not like that, things like reciprocity in game theory proving that cooperation is generally a better strategy overall. Nice to have proof of that sort of thing, it really is, but....

Oh, in other news, the kids handled Halloween for me. I never bought candy because I was sick, and even not knowing it was covid I wasn't willing to get others sick with a cold, and I meant to order candy but that didn't happen because I was too sick to make it happen, and certainly once I knew it was covid I wouldn't hand out candy either, but the kids did all of it. Good for them!

Well done kids!

Ah, Xanth. I read precisely one, noticed Weird Vibes, and didn't read more.

Is it irritating because his books are just kinda dumb/etc overall?

I wound up reading a lot of them because our local library branch around the corner from my house had a ton available and I didn't know much else about finding better scifi/fantasy when I was younger. Similar situation for a ridiculous number of Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High books. I knew they were trash, but they were around and mildly amusing, and we didn't have TV.

Aha, thanks for the heads-up. I vaguely remembered something to the effect, but didn't get far in looking things up to jog my memory.

Also, UGH!!
