I gotta say, the writers do a much better job at explaining their technobabble and previous Trek lore than on other shows, probably because it's explicitly for children and they figure kids need the extra help.

I despair of figuring out the Trek timeline on my own, though. I'm sure somebody has it noted down to the minute somewhere, but that somebody is not me.

I'm pretty sure I've seen some of the O'Keefe NYC paintings in some gallery somewhere, among the skulls in desert and flowers and so on, but memory is failing as to where. Good to bring them together, though. (I do rather miss my quondam more or less annual visits to the Art Institute in Chicago.)

I think the only ones I'd seen before this article are some of those ubiquitous flowers.

I've seen some wonderful landscapes (without animal skulls) - I think it was at the Art Institute there was one - ?'Black Mountain' I was very miffed they didn't have postcards of.

They have several of them at her museum/gallery in Santa Fe, absolutely stunning.

I don't know if you actually want a timeline, but you activated the imaginary Trek symbol in the night sky of my brain so. The one I usually use is on Memory Alpha. It's not down to the minute, but it does go year by year through the centuries. (Also, as noted above, there are multiple timelines and the whole thing is all very wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey at this point so I don't worry about it too much.)

I also have some custom ones I made for myself, but those are specific to my personal fic universe and don't entirely jive with canon.

Those O'Keefe paintings are amazing, and that slightly stylized industrial look might just be my favorite style of painting. Thanks for sharing. :)

Yeah, yeah, but the thing about Memory Alpha, or any fanwiki really, is that you fall into that rabbit hole and you might never come back out.

Yeah, except I selectively don't consider certain shows or episodes to be (main) canon because I don't like them, don't like the implications, or think that the writers have never fully worked out the implications of the economy. So....
