We turned it on to drown out the thunderstorm. Moonpie was trying to be brave - she even attempted to sit out on the porch with me when I went out to meet my sister! - but she just couldn't take it.

Homelander is getting even less stable by the episode. The trouble is that he's taking his advice from his mirror alter-egos, plural, and I don't think they have his best interests at heart. They certainly don't understand what'll make him happy, no more than he does. Petty revenge won't do the trick either, Homelander! (Though at least this time he's killing people who might actually be said to have had it coming. And he did let them eat a Carvel cake first.)

Butcher is also losing his grip on reality, slowly but surely.

And in conclusion, everything is slipping from worse to even more worser.

I've been enjoying The Boys, but haven't had the mental reserves to start watching the latest series. I kind of feel the need to move towards an ending of this story. It's been brilliant and horrible, but it needs to go somewhere now.

Yeah, I can handle a dystopian setting, but it's really hard when it's so obviously our actual dystopia.
