An email from insurance: "Be prepared for identity fraud with this plan!"

Presumably they're trying to sell me the plan and the intended reading is "If identity fraud happens, our plan will protect you", but I swear, my first, most intuitive reading was "If you buy this plan you'd better expect identify fraud!"

I'm not sure in this case if that's a me thing or not.

I would estimate that structure is at least 70% used the way you read it. Not like the other is NEVER used, but I would more expect it to say "get prepared for X" or, more likely, "Never worry about X again!"
