I think Ana might have said her first sentence yesterday!

Jenn and 'dul had just left, and Ana was standing at the babygate listening. Then she starts going on and on about "mama - dada - bye???" and jabbing her face (Jenn and 'dul have tried teaching her a base set of signs. If this is part of that, I think they've been successful). Finally I said "yes, your mommy and daddy are gone, but they'll be back soon - well, not soon, but-" and she screamed.

*grins*

So this was either her first sentence or I'm making a REALLY big deal out of nothing.

She also seems to have learned the difference (finally) between hi, bye, and die. Which is good. It's very disconcerting to hear a baby tell you to die as you exit the house.

Edit: Jenn woke up to tell me to put away the salsa. Apparently, the jabbing of the forehead and chin DOES mean mommy and daddy. *grins again* I just wish Ana hadn't decided to make her point clearer, after the scream, by going over to me and poking MY forehead and chin.

Edit again: Lizziey, Mommy thinks Seth might be getting frustrated because he can't say nearly as much as he can understand, and he's not that great at finding other ways to communicate. The whole idea of teaching hearing babies a few signs is to give them a way to communicate before they're able to make the sounds properly. Maybe that might help Seth?
