Metafilter doesn't count as a person I know, but that is where I was informed that you can say the phrase "Donald Trump, Convicted Felon" to the tune of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", so my joy is now complete. (No popping any bubbles! None of that!) Edit: They also directed me to this lovely scented candle.

I saw an analysis of possible sentencing, written a few hours before the jury reached a verdict, which said that other people who were convicted of falsifying business records in New York in the last few years had been sentenced to anything from probation to four years in jail. It's a bit like Al Capone being convicted of income tax evasion: you know it's the tip of the iceberg, but the sentence will be based on what he was just convicted of.

On the other hand, that article also noted that New York judges have more leeway in sentencing than federal judges, so who knows?
