We are now at DEFCON Starling. However, I just was able to cash the check I got from the Board of Elections. I should not have been able to - it was made out in the wrong name! I meant to fix it but what with reasons and random anxiety and reasons I hadn’t, but I decided to try it out for kicks and it went through! So uh I got the bird feeding stuff I’d planned to get over a few months.

Hopefully I’ll be able to discourage them from inviting friends without having to take extreme measures to chase them away entirely.

I also got mulch for under the feeders, and figured out what to ask everybody to get me for my birthday! (Plants for the ~~birds~~ yard, mostly. The birds like the enormous patch of ragweed, but they’re the only ones. They’ll like some nice native shrubs and ornamental grasses just as well.)

Also! I saw that greeny yellowy bird again! Close to dawn. Maybe it’s crepuscular?
