but our internet has been fucked all day.

And we have Spectrum and lately they've been pretty reliably fucked, with outages lacing every week, but you'd think if it was all day I'd see some results when I googled "spectrum down nyc today" and... not so much.

I'm honestly considering switching providers, and you know I hate change. Especially if it involves calling people or appointments. Plus, it's like moving lanes in the grocery store - as soon as you move, the one you left starts going faster.

I have Spectrum wayy over on the other side of the country, and mine has been pretty solid, since I got my modem replaced and they lowered my signal, LOL

Today specifically I haven't noticed any issues - so that's a data point?

I deal with a co-op ISP here in Ottawa, and haven't noticed any malfunctions.

I have Spectrum, too, and I've had intermittent Internet issues in the last week or so. Unfortunately I don't have any options as far as cable/internet providers where I live so I'm stuck with them.

Look at it this way: chances are the ISP will try to win you back and send you a voucher or something. If it's decent enough then you can go back to it.

I'm using Optimum and it's given me problems but they're the only ones with gig fiber in my neighborhood so they're very aware of their situation.

It crapped out on me last night, too, all the way in Manhattan. It was working on my iPad and iPhone, but none of my computers. So I reset the modem and nothing had internet. I was lucky I could get a technician in - he just left a few minutes ago, having swapped out my old modem, which fixed the problem.
