For the first time in over a decade we're not renewing the Cricket subscription. E was very much on the fence even after she outgrew it, but she's finally agreed that she doesn't need it in the mail every month anymore.

We used to get Cricket when we were kids. Both A and E used to read it when they were younger. And it's always held up.

If you have a child in the right age range for any of the magazines, definitely look into at least one subscription. It's a little pricier than most children's magazines, but the quality is better.

I wonder if Teddy & Charlie have that? thanks for the reminder - I'll have to ask Steph this weekend about possibly gifting them

I'll take a look at their entire line - the boys have varying interests, so there could be something that really appeals

I love good kids magazines. I think I had Ranger Rick as a kid.

awww now I have gone ahead and gotten one for Maggie. When I was little, someone brought home a stack of Cricket magazines and I remember being absolutely enthralled. We had magazines coming in, but they were all aimed at adult readers. The idea of having a magazine that wasn't silly or commercial (we had a sort of local magazines for kids but they were all school focused or not very professionally done) but a Real Magazine meant for children was magical. I remember trying to type up my own version of Cricket and wishing fiercely that there was something like it. NOSTALGIA

I had all these Crickets given to me when I was a kid from the 1960s-80s - they were a treasure trove of amazing content. I wish I still had them, I used to read them for hours.

Oh, man, Cricket was a highlight of my childhood. I loved that magazine. When they launched Cicada for teens I submitted and was rejected--baby's first rejection letter. XD
