That's a good ad—alas, ammosexuals will think it doesn't apply to them.

But those things would never happen to me; I need a gun so I can take out a burglar if one ever breaks in while I'm at home. (Which hasn't happened yet in almost 60 years, but it could...) And so I can stand up to a tyrannical government: those hundreds of heavily-armed FBI, DHS, and IRS agents will get a big surprise when they see me with my pistol.

It is an excellent ad. If those who need to see it don't dismiss it out of hand because of their own assumptions about gun use, it might help reduce some of the consequences shown in the ad.

That's a very good ad, in both production and (if you'll excuse the expression) targeting. It's not calling for changes in laws; it's calling for people to understand the consequences of their choices. Even the NRA ought to be able to get behind that one.
