Today's adventures in Hyrule:

conulyI accidentally landed on a sky island in the middle of a permanent thunderstorm, then almost immediately accidentally ascended to the top of a tower and fell down onto a shrine. Visibility was extremely poor on the top of that island, okay?
Having activated the shrine, I decided to cheat a little and see if the internet had anything to say about this island.
And according to the walkthrough, it's the last place to go if you're going in a sensible order to collect five plot trinkets - five important plot trinkets, sorry - and if I'd done it in the right way getting to that shrine would've been very difficult and taken forever. So I said "Whoops, I'll come back here when I'm ready to do that quest I haven't even started yet, but first, let me look around this cavern" and then immediately found the plot trinket. This ended the endless storm.
And this is why you should never read walkthroughs, because if I'd read that first I would've done it all the way they said, and it would've been impossible.
(Of course, I may have to read a walkthrough to get through the fire temple. I got tired of navigating the minecarts and climbed to the top, and in the process I think I missed a few important things.)
