Me: Honesty is great. I'm sure as long as you and your wife stop lying and keeping secrets from each other you'll be fine. I mean, ffs, what have the two of you even been doing? It's a mutual marriage of convenience. You don't have anything to hide from each other. Also, when the whole point of your marriage is for both of you to lend some respectability to the other it really can only work if you talk to each other openly and honestly. You have got to be partners. So glad you're figuring this out!
MC: Listen, Boyfriend, you wanna move in with me?
Boyfriend: Oh, you don't plan on living with your wife?
MC: I mean with both of us and our kids.
Me: Wait, what? Why are you asking him before you ask her?
Boyfriend: And she's going to be okay with this? Did she say she's okay with this?
MC: Not in so many words, but she did say she wants to put my happiness first. She'll be thrilled! (This line is close to verbatim, guys. I can't make more fun of it than the writers already did.)
Me: What did I just say to you about talking to each other!? I mean, you might very well be right, she might actually be happy with this arrangement, but not if you don't ask her directly! Yes, in so many words! You have to actually use your words to talk to her! Have you even told her that you're hooking up with this man in every closet and corner you can find?
Can you believe this dude called her selfish? I mean, yeah, I've been listening my way through this show for the entirety of WWI and he is not wrong, but buddy, have you looked in a mirror lately? Your wife is not the only selfish person in the relationship.

Whereupon she stoutly claimed that she had signed her name "Daniel" as a sort of inside joke, because she's brave like Daniel in the lion's den.
After leaving they finally fucking talk to each other and she points out that she does want him to be happy, she does know he's not being gay at her, and that she likes his boyfriend just fine and so do the kids. And it's not like him ditching his boyfriend was really going to make him fall in love with her.
So it really does work out! More or less, I mean, obviously it'd be better if he could be open and honest and if she could be an unwed mother without stigma or, even better, if she could have married her first boyfriend - but this is the best that could be made of what otherwise would've been a bad situation all around.
