I graduated high school in 1977 so had to check that one out. I've no idea how the videographer fucked up the exposure, but the hallway scenes look like the lights are out, even though we can see brighter areas in the ceiling.

I gave up on it a couple minutes, bc random people slamming locker doors and walking down a dark hallway (while wearing bad clothes) wasn't that engaging. maybe it gets better four minutes in, but I'm not that patient

So the one I decided to dip into was the one on cans in Hawaii, partly because the cans in Letícia, Colombia, seemed similarly... different. And lo and behold, it's for the same reason! Even though Letícia isn't an island, it might as well be: everything that comes in or out has to arrive either by plane or up the Amazon river.

The fake building thing was a major plot in a recent(ish? don't remember when it released) Rivers of London book. I immediately knew what you were talking about with the video link title before I watched it.

Lots of cool stuff here, but have to watch it later.

Strange. By chance I happened to watch an American marble making video (see below) a few days ago, but it was a very different, far faster and simpler process with dedicated marble making equipment instead of more general glass-blowing equipment and individual dedicated molds like in the British video above. (Most kids couldn't afford the beautiful marbles in the British vid.)
