conulyShe was supposed to have it in August, but for some reason it totally slipped our mind to schedule it. We barely remembered to schedule Finn for the groomer, got him in literally (ugh) the day before my mother's last, ill-fated birthday, and if I'd realized that would happen... to be honest, I probably would've scheduled it anyway, he was really overdue, but I would've visited her after and made her go to the hospital that very night.
The difference is that if Moonpie is a little late for her checkup, she doesn't look sick, but if Finn hasn't been to the groomer since April and now it's August, honestly, he's so shaggy it's embarrassing. It looks like we don't love him at all.
Anyway, now Moonpie has had her nails clipped and Finn is pretty again. I always forget how much like a poodle he looks, which is absurd, he is a poodle, but when his face isn't shaved it's hard to realize just how pointy his little snoot is.
The vet is the same age as Mommy, which I already knew because this came up last year, and again because he was forewarned by the tech that we'd missed our last appointment due to her death (I make it a policy to bring it up rather than dodging it, because honestly, I think that's better for me and if it makes other people uncomfortable, oh well. I mean, of course I only bring it up if there's any reason to, not just totally randomly, but if there's a reason to like if they mention I'm overdue for this appointment, I'm just going to say) and he of course wanted to offer his condolences.
